Bryce Canyon: A Whole New World

Up next on our trip was Bryce Canyon National Park, which felt like a whole new world to us. It was about 2.5 hour drive from Capital Reef. It looked like we were on another planet with the unique rock formations. Bryce is known for its hoodoos, which we enjoyed exploring during our hike. We found this park to be quiet, the trails were well kept and, overall, the views were simply breathtaking. This happened to be our favorite out of all of the National Parks that we traveled to out West on this journey!

Where We Stayed:

We stayed at Best Western Ruby’s Inn Bryce (utilizing our AAA discounted rate). It was a great location, close to Bryce Canyon, and nice to sleep in a bed after camping. It was a basic hotel, but had everything we needed for our one night stay. We enjoyed going in the pool and jacuzzi upon arrival!

For those of you who prefer to camp, there is a camping option nearby that we considered, North Campground.

Adventures:

We loved hiking and exploring around Bryce Canyon. We went down the Navajo Loop, around Peekaboo and up the Queens Garden Loop, totaling 6.4 miles which took about 4-5 hours. It was a beautiful hike with great picture spots every corner we turned.

The hike was moderately difficult and hiking boots are a must along the trail. Even in April, we still saw some snow at the top of the hoodoos. There were many switchbacks that we took down the Navajo Loop, and this is where we got some of our favorite pictures. The Queens Loop is less steep, which is why we decided to go up that instead of up the Navajo Loop. You can choose to do this hike whichever order you would like. This is definitely a hike you don’t want to miss out on and should be on your bucket list!
